DuckDuckGo's App Tracking Protection is now out of beta for all Android users
DuckDuckGo, the company behind the eponymous privacy-focused search engine, has announced the full release of its App Tracking Protection feature for Android users of its Privacy Browser. The announcement comes a month after the introduction of the beta version, as revealed on the company's Twitter account.
The App Tracking Protection feature is integrated into the DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser for Android. Its primary function is to block third-party trackers embedded in apps, even when the apps are not in use.
The feature also provides users with insights into the type of personal data these trackers typically seek to collect. This could include precise location, age, and a unique digital fingerprint of the user's phone, among other data points.
The App Tracking Protection feature is now fully available for Android users. It can be accessed by installing the DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser, which is available for free on the Google Play Store.
