Bluesky unveils new logo and allows everyone to view posts without logging in
Bluesky, the decentralized social network initiated by Jack Dorsey, former co-founder of Twitter (now X), has unveiled a new logo and introduced the ability for non-account holders to view posts on the platform. The new logo, featuring a butterfly, was chosen in response to users organically adopting the butterfly emoji 🦋 to indicate their Bluesky handles.
Emerging as an alternative to X and Mastodon, Bluesky has taken a step further in its evolution ahead of Threads. From its inception, Bluesky has offered public posts through an open protocol (the AT Protocol). Now, the platform has made these posts publicly accessible via the app, broadening its reach and accessibility.
This means you can now easily send the link of a post on Bluesky to a friend or a colleague that doesn't have a Bluesky account. It also means Bluesky posts will now have the possibility to be embedded in various websites.
