Gitea launches cloud service to provide a secure alternative to GitHub and GitLab

Gitea, the secure DevOps platform known for being an alternative to GitHub and GitLab, has officially launched Gitea Cloud. This service is designed to enable enterprise organizations to establish and operate their own Gitea instances with increased ease and efficiency.

Previously, Gitea was solely available as a local and self-hosted product. The introduction of Gitea Cloud eliminates the need for installation and maintenance, as it allows usage on a dedicated instance.

In terms of security, Gitea Cloud is in the midst of SOC2 Type 1 and 2 audits, which will provide assurance that code is securely stored. This is a significant development for compliance teams, offering them a greater peace of mind.

Currently, Gitea Cloud is operating on an invite-only basis. The Gitea team is progressively sending out registration invitations to those on the waitlist.
