Bitwarden latest update enables Passkey storage and data import from LastPass

Several months after announcing initial Passkey support, the popular password manager Bitwarden has released an update that enables the storage of Passkeys in the Bitwarden vault. The new feature facilitates the storage and login with passkeys via the Bitwarden browser extension.

The latest update (2023.10.0) also brings the ability to import data from LastPass directly to Bitwarden, and from browser extensions and desktop apps. The mobile app has undergone a reorganization, with the Settings tab now divided into more intuitive categories.

The update also includes an enhancement to the Password Manager clients. The username generator can now be linked to self-hosted instances of Addy.io and SimpleLogin to easily generate unique usernames and aliases. In addition, the update introduces the ability for cards and identities to be autofilled by browser extensions using the context menu.

For enterprise organizations, the Bitwarden Secrets Manager can now be self-hosted. Furthermore, service account event logs are now accessible directly from the service accounts view.
