Airbnb's Winter 2023 introduces 'Guest Favorites,' better reviews, and smart locks support

Airbnb winter 2023 software update brings several significant improvements for hosts and guests. One of these new highlighted features is the "Guest Favorites," a curated collection of 2 million top-rated homes on the platform. These homes boast ratings of 4.9 or higher, considering factors such as check-in process, cleanliness, listing accuracy, host communication, location, and value. The platform has also updated its ratings and reviews section, adding features such as sorting reviews by recency or rating, displaying review distribution from 1 to 5 stars, and providing more in-depth information about reviewers and their trips. The review system also enables guests to provide more specific information, like the duration of their stay and if they traveled with children or pets.

For hosts, the platform now offers an AI-powered photo tour feature, enabling hosts to create a photo tour organized by rooms, which helps guests understand the property layout. There's also a new 'Listings' tab and a Listing Editor, allowing hosts to add and edit property details, including amenities and sleeping arrangements. Additionally, new pricing visibility features have been introduced to make it clearer for guests to understand the fees applied during their stay.

The platform also allows hosts to integrate compatible smart locks with their Airbnb account, generating a unique code for each reservation accessible through the Airbnb app. Additional upgrades for hosts include price comparison with similar listings, a new earnings dashboard for detailed payment information, and new options for Co-Host payouts. Hosts can compare their pricing with similar listings directly in the calendar and communicate with their Co-Hosts through the app's new Inbox features.
