Windows introduces an update for Windows Ink, enabling handwriting in any input field
Microsoft has launched an update to the Windows Ink feature in Windows 11, enabling users to handwrite in any text field typically used for typing. The update, known as KB5031455, is now available to Surface devices and other Windows tablets users with stylus compatibility after several months in preview. Users can access this update by activating the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" option in Windows Update.
The improved feature, currently supporting US English, enhances handwriting recognition technology for greater accuracy and includes gesture controls for tasks like deleting, selecting, and splitting words. The update also fixes a number of Windows 11 bugs, including a memory leak in ctfmon.exe, and improves the Dynamic Lighting feature.
