Twitch introduces stories on mobile app, initially available for partners and affiliates
Twitch is introducing a stories feature on its mobile app, similar to Instagram stories (as well as hundreds of other apps nowadays like WhatsApp, Telegram, and even Netflix). The feature will be progressively made available to partners and affiliates based on certain criteria. It will allow users to post images, text messages, or clips that will disappear after 48 hours. Viewers can see these stories at the top of the Twitch app from the creators they follow.
Initially, the stories feature will be accessible only to affiliates and partners who have streamed at least once in the past 30 days. Twitch is considering extending this feature to a wider user base in the future. The feature provides a creative platform for creators to use channel emotes and custom backgrounds. Streamers with at least 30 subscribers can create subscriber-only stories.
Twitch will also offer analytics for stories, allowing creators to track their performance, and viewers will receive notifications when a creator they follow posts a new story.
