Meta's Threads app introduces free post editing and voice threads
Meta's Threads app has recently added free post editing, a feature that directly competes with what is seen on X, but with the significant difference that it is not behind a paywall and can be used by all users.
The announcement was made by Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, who outlined the introduction of this and other features. To edit a post, users tap the three dots icon in the top-right corner of the post, triggering a menu where the Edit option is found. Changes can be saved by tapping the Post button. However, this feature is only available for five minutes after the post has been published. If the Edit option is not visible, users may need to update the app or wait for the feature to appear.
Alongside post editing, Threads has also introduced the ability to post voice messages. Users can tap the Post button and use the microphone icon to record a message. Threads provides a transcription service for comprehensible voice messages, though users can post without transcriptions if necessary.
