Dashlane expands Passkey support to iOS and Android users for enhanced security

In a recent announcement, Dashlane, a widely used password manager, has declared that Android and iOS users can now create, save, and manage their passkeys via the Dashlane app. This follows similar moves by 1Password and Bitwarden, marking Dashlane's entry into cross-platform passkey management.

Dashlane initially introduced Passkey support on Android a few months back, and it is now accessible to all users on both iOS and Android. This development signifies a crucial stride towards offering users a quicker, simpler, and more secure method of registering for web services.

In the official statement, Dashlane revealed that “According to our usage data, when people are prompted to use passkeys, they’re 70% more likely to sign in than when they’re using passwords. This is a clear illustration of the ease of use of passkeys.”

Following the public launch of Android 14, users now have the option to decide where their passkeys are stored, and can select Dashlane for passkey management.

Dashlane has designed the shift from passwords to passkeys to be straightforward. Once a user creates a passkey for a specific website or app, Dashlane will recognize the passkey associated with that service each time the user attempts to log in and will automate the login process.
