Brave Talk extension now available in the Chrome Web Store for Google Calendar
Brave Talk, the Brave web browser's built-in video chat tool which launched in September of 2021, is now available as an extension for Google Calendar in the Chrome Web Store. This extension allows users to add links to Brave Talk sessions directly within a calendar invite with one click.
In the announcement post on the Brave official website, the development team describes how this calendar integration was a highly requested feature for the service. Since Google Calendar is one of the most used calendar and scheduling services on the web, this integration was the one the development team prioritized. Despite this, the privacy protection found in the main Brave Talk service built into the Brave web browser by default is still present.
Other new features were implemented in the free and paid versions of Brave Talk, including raising the free call participant limit from 2 to 4, and the following new features for those that pay for the monthly premium service: • Advanced moderation, which allows the moderator to restrict audio and video access for any number of participants • Participant reactions with sounds, including laughing, clapping, and raised hands • Breakout rooms • Polls • Options for performance settings • An improved tile view layout
Brave Talk can be accessed from talk.brave.com by any desktop or mobile web browser. Though calls must be started via the Brave browser, anyone can join an active call as long as they are invited to it.
The Brave Talk for Google Calendar extension is available now via the Chrome Web Store.
