at 4:06 PM Facebook Messenger still toying with WhatsApp chat integration
Facebook Messenger has secretly implemented the foundation of WhatsApp conversation support within its mobile app releases.
WA Tweaker developer Alessandro Paluzzi detailed his discovery of the new functionality stealthily added to Facebook Messenger. In order to showcase this hidden functionality, Paluzzi forced a chat thread to be recognized as a WhatsApp conversation within Messenger.
Though the actual connection between Messenger and WhatsApp has not yet been formally coded, the newly implemented interface shows that it is in active development. That said, this functionality appears to be totally optional when seen from this point in development. No existing functionality will be restricted based on a decision to not integrate WhatsApp into Messenger or vice versa.
No time table for the integration between Messenger and WhatsApp has been detailed by Facebook as of this writing.
