Created in 2006 by an Israeli startup and used by more than 160 million people worldwide, Wix is a complete and easy-to-use website creation software, suitable for both simple showcase websites and complex professional platforms.

Fast, simple and free, Koken might be the right solution for you… Koken is a CMS specifically designed for photographers that allows you to set up an online portfolio of your photos. It supports several media formats and has a very complete back office dedicated to creating albums and managing your images.

Cargo is a platform that allows artists, photographers, architects... to publish their portfolio simply and elegantly. Technically, the platform offers the same features as the aging software Indexhibit with cloud hosting and a series of beautiful and mobile-optimized graphic themes. The marketing choice is to present portfolios of prestigious artists to encourage peers to join.

Quality websites without any technical skills required: that's what Weebly promises. Weebly is one of the best-known online website publishers in the United States. It claims more than 40 million users worldwide. Weebly's interface is well organized and allows you to see all the available features at a glance. Several menus at the top of the page provide easy access to the main functions. You can add text, images or shapes to your website with simple drag and drop.

Carbonmade allows designers to create their own portfolio to display their creations. The site is very easy to use: in a few clicks the portfolio is created, all that remains is to fill it in! You can add projects and creations, tag them and classify them. More detailed options (client, project URL, notes…) can also be added.

Behance is a social media platform owned by Adobe which aims to showcase and discover creative work. Users can sign up to Behance and build profiles consisting of projects. Both registered and unregistered users can "appreciate" any particular project, as well as comment on them. Its biggest competitors are Dribbble and DeviantArt which we'll cover next. Alternatively, you can also use Adobe Portfolio to create an online portfolio based on your Lightroom photos or Behance projects.

Dribbble is a self-promotion and networking platform for digital designers of various disciplines, including graphic design, web design, UX/UI, web design, illustration, and branding. Dribbble serves as a design portfolio platform. It is one of the largest platforms for designers to share their work online.

DeviantArt is an online art community, where everyone can register and exhibit their own graphic or literary creations. On its 15th anniversary (August 7, 2015), the site had more than 36.4 million registered users and more than 200 million deviations.

Flickr, from the English verb to flick through, is a free photo and video sharing website, with some paid features, owned by SmugMug. In addition to being a popular website for users to share their personal photos, it is also often used by professional photographers. In August 2011, the site reached six billion hosted photos. By February 2017, the site hosted approximately thirteen billion photos for one hundred and twenty-two million members and two million groups.

500px is a community photo sharing website. It is perceived as a place of exhibition, inspiration and connection between photographers. It facilitates direct communication between photographers and clients, since photographers can sell their pictures on the platform. In January 2018, the site claims 13 million registered users.
