One year later, still a buggy mess. It has interesting features, but they can't be used properly.

The Windows version is also buggy... to the point I can't use it. Back to OBS.

The account is required to use the app and the creation of one fails.

It's still a WIP - important features, like data export do not work yet, whereas import from Bitwarden is incomplete. There are a few annoying bugs (e.g. autofill and cache issues). The app (Android/Windows) is slow.

I always feel bad rating FOSS so low, but Shinobi is just… bad. The performance is atrocious, probably because the app is written in JS. The configuration is hard, even with their ONVIF scanner it took me more time to set it up than in Frigate (with their text-only setup). The UI is buggy, no "sane defaults" settings - if you don't change a few things it won't show you live streams.

Great news, sadly still doesn't have the most important gboard feature - multi language support. All keyboards except gboard require you to switch the typing language - they won't suggest words or detect swipes in two languages simultaneously.

Finally... the era of switching to proper browsers may start.

Has a few issues and misses two or three "nice-to-haves", but overall it's good and looks great.

They even managed to fuck up a calculator. That's Microslop for you. Copying doesn't work, pasting throws an error.

Accounts are only possible via Google OAuth

Data extortion / log in coercion. I edited an image and when I wanted to download it they said I can't do that without logging in... what?? Then why even allow editing?

That's not even the worst part - I'm literally unable to log in - their form doesn't work. I entered my password and it just spins forever.

Mobile app doesn't have any import functionality.
