What is ZoomShot?

Born from 10 years of screen recording.

I've spent the last decade recording hundreds of hours of IT tutorial videos. Throughout that time, I ran into the same frustrations over and over:

Zooming in on a specific area? That had to be done in the video editor after recording. Mac's built-in zoom existed, but the UX felt unnatural — the whole screen shifted awkwardly, and there was no way to smoothly zoom into just the area you wanted.

Drawing on screen to explain something? I had to install and run a completely separate drawing app alongside my recording.

Highlighting the cursor to guide the viewer's attention? Finding a single tool that handled both focus highlighting and drawing well was nearly impossible.

Recently, some apps appeared that apply automatic zoom in the editing stage. But because the zoom is automatic, it often zooms in on parts that shouldn't be zoomed — and then you have to scrub through the entire recording to find and fix every unwanted zoom. It traded one editing problem for another.

After hundreds of hours of this, I built ZoomShot.

Zoom, focus highlight, and drawing — all happen live on screen with simple shortcuts. What you see is exactly what gets recorded. No post-production zoom. No separate drawing tool. No fixing unwanted auto-zooms. The editing step is simply gone.

Key Features: •? ?Screen Zoom — Ctrl+A (customizable) + scroll wheel. Smooth, instant, recorded as-is. •? ?Focus Highlight — Spotlight around your cursor to guide viewer attention. •? ?Screen Drawing — Freehand, lines, rectangles, circles directly on screen.

Free: •? ?Screen zoom with full customization (sensitivity, max scale, smooth transitions)

Premium: •? ?Focus Highlight (size, shape, background dimming) •? ?Screen Drawing (freehand, line, rectangle, circle, colors, thickness)

I use ZoomShot every single day for my own recordings. Every improvement comes from real daily use. The roadmap: keep adding live screen effects so that post-production editing becomes completely unnecessary.
