What is Zandovi?

Zandovi is a template-based image generation API with a design editor. It allows users to create images such as coupons, badges, or certificates, bind the changeable parts to variables, and then render personalized copies. Users can POST JSON from their backend or upload a CSV and get a ZIP.

Zandovi solves the problem of image-generation APIs providing a JSON schema instead of a design tool, and Canva-style editors requiring you to change the name and export multiple times. With Zandovi, engineers only need to send JSON, and the design owner can continue editing it on a canvas.

The API features include per-organization keys, 12 live endpoints, and no need for an SDK or headless browser. It can return an image in under a second at 1080p, ask a template what variables it takes, and provide bytes by default or a hosted URL. It also supports async batch over the API, with full documentation available at docs.zandovi.com.

The editor offers a real canvas in the browser with features like shapes, text, images, gradients, layers, alignment, and distribution. It includes stock photo search across Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay, QR codes and barcodes, and 200+ starter templates.

Users can mark any text, image, QR code, or barcode as a variable and assign it a type, label, default, and validation rules. The template then describes its inputs, generating the API payload and CSV columns.

Zandovi also allows batch processing without code. Users can download the CSV template for their design, fill it in, upload it, and Zandovi will render the rows in parallel and return a ZIP with filenames templated from the user's data.

Zandovi is suitable for developers generating images from their own app, automation builders needing image rendering in their workflow, and marketing and operations personnel with a spreadsheet and event badges due. It was built by a single developer over the past year and is available for free at app.zandovi.com/register with no credit card required.
