What is YaShlang?
YaShlang is an online video player for Android, primarily for PeerTube and YouTube. It features local playlists, whitelisted recommendations, and background playback. The player control panel is in the notification area, and the sound can be paused or resumed. An older mode without background playback is available in the settings.
The software has an enhanced recommendation list, with the first video opened displayed first. Users can add favorite channels and playlists, and choose to disable videos within these playlists. YaShlang doesn't require a Google account, it extracts information directly from YouTube using the NewPipeExtractor library and plays videos with the ExoPlayer library.
Key features include random recommendations from selected channels, instant search in the local database, and the ability to add channels or playlists by searching online or inserting an address. It offers a dynamic playlist feature to play search results, and the ability to switch off and on playlists and channels. Users can blacklist videos from added channels, add recommended channels and playlists, and download streams for offline playback.
