What is Yakuza?
Yakuza, also known as Like a Dragon, is a video game series and media franchise created by Toshihiro Nagoshi for Sega. The series combines elements of action-adventure, beat 'em up, and role-playing genres.
Each game typically features a crime drama narrative inspired by yakuza films and Japanese crime dramas. The story often revolves around Kazuma Kiryu, a former yakuza tied to the Tojo Clan. Despite his involvement with the clan's leadership, Kiryu's main goal is to leave the yakuza, care for orphans, and live a civilian life.
In Yakuza / Like a Dragon, players control Kiryu (or other characters depending on the game) in an open world. They can engage in combat, complete side missions, learn new skills from NPCs, eat at restaurants, visit clubs, craft items, and play mini games like golf, bowling, and gambling.
