YAC is my personal choice for reading local .cbz files. The app is apart of the full YAC suite of apps, which also includes a server for PC/Mac/Linux to serve your library to your mobile devices. These apps see consistent development, and the dev team is very responsive to feedback. It's a great product for anyone who wants to enjoy their local library of comics or manga.

YACReader is no longer a portable app. There is no way to download the last portable verion (YACReader Portable 6.5.3).

Latest linux version decided to set itself as the default app for dozens of MIME types (including but not limited to zip files and folders) without asking. Bug or horrible design, don't know.
