It has a lot of functions and is at a correct price for what it does. they have another version that includes Linux for the same price. Be aware that it is a web builder, not an editor. But you can get a Web site done quite fast...

WYSIWYG is a powerful tool for those seeking fine control over their websites without having to learn how to code.

Notice that it's just a desktop program where you build your sites. That means you will have to have some sort of server or a hosting plan someplace, in order to display your websites on the web once they're built.

I've used WYSIWYG Web Builder to create a few sites for the last 10 years and have seen it evolve, tracking the changes in web concepts and display choices. The development team behind it is very active and responsive thru its forum, and are always releasing new modules or versions. Every year or 2 a new version comes out, that you won't need to buy but should, to keep up with new web trends. I personally have bought and used versions 7, 9, 12 and 14 (the latest).

It's a capable and updated tool, with many modules and add-ons, and that puts out very impressive sites - with some learning. As with anything else, you get back what you put in. So if you want detailed control over your website appearance and behavior, and are not wanting to learn a lot of code for that, take a look at it. You can use it for a month to figure out if it's for you. I really like it.

WYSIWYG Web Builder does not have a really good free or open source equivalent simply because it's a unique program of it's kind and you can develop sites visually without the need to know HTML code. It's also unique by it's extensions. This is my opinion. Thank you.
