Comments and Reviews

Comment summary: WOT receives mixed feedback. While some users appreciate its ability to provide safety ratings and maintain a community-driven approach, others criticize it for privacy issues and a flawed rating system influenced by premium users. Allegations of data misuse and lack of transparency have raised concerns. Despite its community features, skepticism persists around its fairness and reliability. Some suggest avoiding the extension or crave a better alternative, highlighting the need for a robust FOSS replacement.

WOT is very useful, especially when browsing search results on Google or another search engine. I recommend turning off the Child Safety rating though, since at least half of the stuff on the internet is child-inappropriate. :P

Internet really needs a FOSS replacement for WOT, something with a blockchain. Related to Bitcoin/ Ethereum

A rating system would be abused by users who don't like a website. I think a commenting system would be much better. And comments should be rated, so useful comments come up in ranking. Thus the best description of the website would outrank the others.

There is no trace of its old form. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Just don't use it as web browser extension - website only. It still have very good community database.
