What is Worldtable?

Worldtable is a browser-based, text-only fantasy RPG. You type what your character does and an AI storyteller narrates the scene and voices every character. A game engine runs the rules. It rolls dice and applies formulas for combat, stamina and mana costs, travel, items, money, health and death. Because the engine records the outcomes, you can’t talk your way past a lost fight or an empty purse.

Builders make their own worlds in the World Studio. They set the map, peoples, magic, currency, rules and what happens on death. An assistant called Hob makes edits from plain-language requests, and answering six questions gives you a draft world to start from.

Features include:

  • Named characters who remember what you did and how much they trust you
  • Combat where enemies announce their attacks first, with shared rounds in group fights
  • Travel that takes real time over mapped distances, with terrain, roads and time of day all counting
  • Dungeons, sea voyages, fog of war, markets, crafting, training and discoveries
  • Loud deeds that spread through the world as news and can earn titles
  • A Chronicle that turns events into in-world chapters, which the storyteller reads before later scenes
  • Parties of up to 4 players by default (builders can set 0–6), an out-of-character chat for each world, and a shared Tavern across all worlds

New accounts get 50 free credits, and a turn costs 1 credit. You can buy more in packs or on a monthly plan. A builder can connect their own OpenRouter key or any OpenAI-compatible API, and then players in that world spend no credits. It also has integrations with coding agents directly.
