What is WolLight?

WolLight sends Wake-on-LAN magic packets to PCs on the same local network and keeps a small list of the devices you wake regularly. English is the default UI language; Japanese is used when the device language is Japanese.

Features:

  • Wake-on-LAN: sends a standard magic packet as a UDP broadcast on the local network, with a configurable port.
  • Registered devices: save the devices you wake often with a name, MAC address, broadcast address and port. The list is kept on the device.
  • LAN scan: detects the current Wi-Fi subnet and lists reachable hosts, attempting host-name resolution over NetBIOS and mDNS.
  • Online / offline indicator per device, based on ping results.
  • Ping: sends ten pings at one-second intervals and shows each result plus a summary.
  • Stale-IP recovery: if a registered device is not reachable at its saved IP address, WolLight runs one LAN scan and looks for the same MAC address; the saved IP is updated only after you confirm.

Privacy: all traffic stays on the local network. No account, no cloud sync, no analytics or telemetry.

Limitations: local network only (waking a PC over the internet needs a separate VPN or port-forwarding setup). The target PC must already be configured for Wake-on-LAN; whether it wakes depends on that PC's hardware and settings, and delivery of a UDP magic packet cannot be confirmed.

Requires Android 8.0 or later and a Wi-Fi connection. Open source (MIT).
