What is Wii Gamepad?

Wii Gamepad turns a Wii Remote (with or without Nunchuk) into a virtual Xbox 360 controller on Linux, so Steam, Proton and any game with controller support recognize it as a normal gamepad. It relies on the kernel's own hid-wiimote driver and creates the virtual controller through uinput.

It includes a remapping window with per-game profiles whose changes apply instantly, game rumble on the Wiimote, Motion Plus gyro as a stick with a Wii-style aim mode, a mouse mode and an on-screen keyboard driven by the Wiimote. The bridge starts by itself when the Wiimote connects and turns it off when idle to save battery. A one-command installer supports Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, openSUSE, Alpine and Void. The interface is currently in Spanish.
