What is Whisper by Remskill?
Whisper by Remskill is an AI voice assistant for the desktop. Press a global hotkey, speak naturally, and your words are transcribed and pasted wherever your cursor is — in any application, on Windows or macOS.
Three ways to run it, you choose:
- Local — Whisper models (offline): 99 languages, translate-to-English, custom vocabulary/hotwords, beam-size control. 8 model sizes from fast to highest-accuracy.
- Local — NVIDIA Parakeet (offline): 5–10× faster than Whisper on CPU. English + 24 European languages. Great for speed.
- Cloud — OpenAI (bring your own key): best-in-class accuracy, AI text cleanup, and one-command voice web search. You supply your own OpenAI key; Remskill takes no cut.
Privacy-first. In local mode, audio never leaves your device — there's no Remskill server in the loop. API keys are encrypted on disk (AES-256-GCM).
What makes it different: transcription and web search in a single voice command. No browser tabs, no copy-paste — ask out loud and the answer is typed where you're working.
