Waves Vocal Rider is an audio plugin that rides vocal levels automatically. You set a target level and a range, and it raises or lowers the vocal in real time, up to 12 dB either way, so the vocal stays consistent without heavy compression. Feed the instrument mix into its sidechain and the target follows the music. It adds no latency, works for studio and live mixing, and can write its gain changes to an automation track for editing. It’s also used on podcasts and voice-over. Formats: AAX, AudioSuite, AU and VST3 on macOS 14 or later and Windows 10/11.
