It's important to note that both WarpShare and MoKee as a whole were discontinued in January 2023. Consequently, there may be compatibility issues with current Android versions, and we do not have any intentions to address or continue the maintenance of the project.

What is WarpShare?

WarpShare is an application developed by the creators of MoKee, a custom ROM based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) popular in China. WarpShare's primary purpose is to enable file transfers from Android devices to Macbooks using Apple's AirDrop technology, without requiring additional software on the Macbook.

WarpShare uses Apple Wireless Direct Link (AWDL), Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol, to establish two-way communication. However, AWDL is only necessary for the Android device to be recognized by the Mac, allowing file transfers from the Mac to the Android device. Therefore, WarpShare only supports one-way file transfer from Android to Mac, not the other way around. For a successful transfer, the AirDrop discoverability on the Mac must be set to "everyone". WarpShare does not support file transfers from Android to other Apple devices such as iPhones or iPads.

To use WarpShare, users must compile the application from its source code for installation on their Android device.
