Volume Balance

Volume Balance adds a real audio compressor to Chrome and Firefox. Quiet videos get louder and loud videos get tamed, automatically, on every site: X, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube and any page with embedded video, including clips that load while you scroll.

Unlike a simple volume booster it gives you the full compressor controls: threshold, ratio, knee, attack, release and makeup gain, plus a master volume for all browser audio. Five built-in presets (Standard, Social Media, Video / Streaming, Night Mode, Gentle) cover everyday use, and you can save unlimited presets of your own and set one as the default for every page. A switch per tab turns it off without a glitch.

All processing happens locally in the browser. No server, no account, no tracking, no data leaves your browser. DRM-protected streams such as Netflix cannot be processed by any extension.
