What is Vetrata Studio?

Vetrata Studio is browser-based stained-glass pattern-design software for Windows, macOS, Chromebooks, and Linux. It runs without installation or an account, works offline, and saves patterns in browser storage or local files. It provides drawing, tracing, grid, symmetry, motif, and lettering tools, and imports SVG, DXF, and PDF drawings as lead lines.

The software checks patterns for issues such as sharp points, slivers, narrow pieces, and deep curves. Designs can use glass libraries, custom colours, or photo-derived glass, with 3D previews and colourway comparisons. Patterns can be printed full-size or exported as SVG, DXF, or PDF with numbered glass plans and colour keys. Free printing and cutting-machine exports are limited to patterns with up to 20 pieces; Vetrata Pro removes this limit and adds measured openings, multi-part layouts, reinforcing bars, curved lamp shades, perspective correction, and glass-sheet cutting layouts.
