What is Vectorizely?

Vectorizely is a free vectorizer that turns raster images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP) into real SVG vector paths. All processing runs locally in the browser, so images are never uploaded to a server.

Before tracing, it finds the actual colors in the image and snaps every pixel to one of them, so anti-aliased edges and JPEG noise don't become specks and halos. The cleaned image is then traced into curves by the open-source VTracer engine, compiled to WebAssembly and run in a background worker. Shapes are stacked instead of cut out of each other, so the output has no hairline gaps between colors. Small images are upscaled before tracing, and photos or painted art are posterized to at most 24 colors.

It has three modes. Color finds the palette automatically, or you set 2 to 64 colors. Black & white is for line art, stencils and one-color logos. Centerline draws one stroke down the middle of each line instead of a double outline, for laser engravers, pen plotters and Cricut pens.

Other features: transparent background, palette swatches, a 4x zoom for checking edges, copy SVG to the clipboard, paste an image from the clipboard, and PNG export.

There's no account, no watermark and no usage limit, and you keep all rights to the files you make. It works best on logos, icons, line art and flat illustrations. Photographs trace into heavy, posterized vectors.
