Hi, this post is cool. I'm looking for the other video downloader for almost 5 days now. Thanks I got your post, it helps me a lot. Likewise, I'm using other tool which is similar with tool mentioned above and this is called the Acethinker Video Maker, this tool lets me to grab videos in different sites in HD quality.
This program works, but in free mode will only download videos very very VERY slowly, like about the same speed as dialup internet. And, it will nag and popup reminders to upgrade to premium to get full download speed and other features. This is not "freemium"; it's crippleware. Uninstalled.
I first used the Free YouTube Downloader 2 or 3 years ago and it worked perfectly for me every time. It had certain limitations of course, it was the free version after all, but if you worked within those limitations it performed very well indeed. I liked the way you could right click on a video, copy the address and then when you went to the Free YouTube Downloader it already had the address waiting for you to use. You could then save it as a video or an MP3 if you wanted a music file. I can't speak to highly about this program, it is easy and simple to use, no fuss, no bother, it just does exactly what it says it does. I have since moved on up to to the pro version and it is well worth it for the extra features of higher resolution on videos and higher bit rate for MP3s. On my next renewal I will be going up to a lifetime renewal instead of an annual one, it's better value for me.
Formerly, I liked Vdownloader in Version 1.12 . Now I tried it again and experienced a really dangerous behaviour. Read my report under: http://superuser.com/questions/219437/vdownloader-3-0-733-deletes-files-unintended
