What is Urbit?
Urbit is a social media available in either client or server format. The Urbit client is called an "Urbit ID". And the Urbit server is called an "Urbit OS". As they are meant for technical users.
Both Urbit ID and Urbit OS are completely owned and controlled by its users. Both are decentralized and fully Libre Source (Open Source).
User who registered an Urbit ID get a memorable name (like ~ravmel-ropdyl). Which is use as a username, network address and crypto wallet all in one. It’s registered on a blockchain, you own it with a key and no one can take it away from you.
The Urbit OS includes a full operating system (OS) and peer-to-peer network
