What is Unu?

Unu is a couch-first game library and launcher for Windows PCs connected to a TV. It brings games from multiple storefronts into one unified library designed to be navigated entirely with a controller.

Unlike launchers built primarily for desktop use, Unu focuses on a console-like big-screen experience. Its interface can be replaced with third-party themes, while storefront and metadata integrations are provided through sandboxed plugins with explicitly limited permissions.

Unu progressively discovers games, combines metadata from multiple sources, caches artwork locally, and launches installed games through a validated application-controlled process. It is built with Rust and Tauri and is designed around security, extensibility, and failure isolation.
