UnloadTab has been discontinued. Similar apps include Firemin, which is free and open source. Other options are Auto Tab Discard, BarTab Tycho, Tiny Suspender and Quidle. In total there are eight Tab Managers like UnloadTab for Windows, Linux, Mac and the web.
Firemin is a small utility to reduce the amount of memory Firefox or other browsers use. Although Firefox memory usage improved a little over the last few years, it still uses a lot of memory.

Auto Tab Discard a lightweight extension that uses the native method (tabs.discard) to unload or suspend browser tabs to significantly reduce the memory footprint of your browser when many tabs are opened.
BarTab Tycho reduces memory usage by unloading tabs, either manually or automatically after an adjustable time period. It can also intercept when tabs are loaded in the background or restored after a browser restart, and only load the content when the tab is actually visited.
Quidle automatically closes inactive tabs based on your custom rules, helping you stay focused, save memory, and keep your browser clutter-free.

This Chrome/Iron extension is inspired by the excellent Firefox extension - BarTab, although it's much less sophisticated and powerful.
