I use PhraseExpress to do this and a lot more. Unfortunately, virtual keystrokes don't have the same "powers" as real keystrokes in a number of instances.. such as using them with text expanders.

What is Type The Board?

"Type the Board" is a tiny application developed by Wizardry and Steamworks and fulfills the sole purpose of being able to use keystrokes in order to simulate pasting the contents of the clipboard. Although many other solutions exist, frequently the user is sent to download applications from Microsoft Store that needs an account, or to solve the problem by using AutoIt scripts, even though the user really just wants to solve their problem without having to sign up on sites or learn new programming languages or use other environments. "Type the Board" sits in the system tray, provides a way to bind a new "paste" key and when the key-combo is pressed, "Type the Board" will unload the contents of the clipboard by typing it into the currently active application.
