What is tunnl.gg?

Expose localhost to the internet with one SSH command. tunnl.gg gives the web server on your machine a public HTTPS URL over plain SSH, with nothing to install and no account:

ssh -t -R 80:localhost:3000 proxy.tunnl.gg

Free, with no account:

  • Random URLs, or the same URL every time with stable@proxy.tunnl.gg (derived from your SSH key, nothing to register)
  • Automatic HTTPS and WebSocket support (hot reload works)
  • A QR code in the terminal to open your tunnel on a phone
  • A live request log in the terminal
  • host=localhost to fix "Blocked request" errors from dev servers like Vite and Next.js
  • Open-source (MIT) Go server you can self-host

Pro and Team plans (from $5/month) add:

  • Your own subdomains, like myapp.tunnl.gg
  • No time limits and no browser warning page
  • Password protection, IP allowlists and CORS
  • A request inspector with replay, and traffic stats

Free tunnels last up to 24 hours (2 hours without traffic). tunnl.gg tunnels HTTP and WebSocket traffic; TLS terminates at the tunnl.gg edge, and the content of your traffic is never stored.
