What is TubeMerger?

TubeMerger is a free, open-source desktop application that downloads YouTube playlists and stitches the selected clips into a single, seamless MP4 video.

Unlike browser-based downloaders that enforce file size limits or download dozens of loose files, TubeMerger handles everything on your local machine using yt-dlp and FFmpeg.

Key Features:

  • Selective Playlist Downloads: Preview playlist items and select only the clips you want to keep.
  • Automatic Video Normalization: Handles mismatched resolutions, aspect ratios, and sample rates to prevent audio desync and stuttering.
  • Seekable Chapter Markers: Generates native MP4 chapters labeled with original video titles for easy navigation in media players like VLC.
  • Local & Private: Runs locally via a lightweight FastAPI backend and React desktop interface; no video streams or URLs are sent to third-party servers.
  • Cross-Platform: Pre-compiled binaries available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
