What is Touhou Project?
Touhou Project is a Japanese vertically scrolling bullet hell shooting game series produced by Oota Jun'ya (ZUN), the head of the Doujin Circle "Team Shanghai Alice", with the Fighting Game spin-offs made by Twilight Frontier.
Set in Gensokyo, a paradise where the forgotten ones arrive, the game depicts some strange incidents caused by strange creatures. It is a story of investigation and resolution by the human side centered on Reimu Hakurei, a shrine maiden at Hakurei Shrine. They try to maintain Gensokyo's delicate balance, sometimes antagonizing and sometimes cooperating with the Youkai. The game depicts a slapstick drama of fun and somewhat inhuman characters in a fierce and crazy "Bullet Hell" game.
Even barrages that seem impossible to clear at a first glance are now balanced in a way that can (perhaps) be cleared by memorizing patterns and practice. Clearing after practice is exceptional, so even those who are not good at it will definitely try it.
