TinyUmbrella is a nice and easy way to prepare to downgrade your iPhone, as long as it's already jailbroken. Alternatively, you can prepare to downgrade manually by saving your SHSH blobs with Cydia (it asks you to do this when you open Cydia for the first time) and adding the following line to your Windows/Mac hosts file ( ):

But instead of doing all that, I would rather just use TinyUmbrella.

P.S. In case you want to know, here's how you downgrade your iPhone: after using TinyUmbrella, download an old version of iPhone software (from here: ). Then, while pressing down the shift key (the Option key on Mac), click the restore button ona your iPhone's iTunes page. Choose your downloaded iPhone software and restore!

P.S.S. Another note: you don't need to use TinyUmbrella or edit the hosts file if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch that is first-generation or second-generation.
