PkgBackup works- mostly. I've used it twice. The first time was when I updated my jailbroken iPod Touch 2G to iOS 4.1; PkgBackup brought back everything without much of a problem. I was especially surprised at how well it backed up Cydia sources.
However, the second time I used PkgBackup was less successful. I had to restore my iPod after it wouldn't boot up, and while PkgBackup technically DID restore all of my Cydia apps afterward, it restored them from an old backup I made a long time ago- it didn't recognize any new backups. Also, the Cydia sources weren't restored properly. All of my 3rd party sources were set as default sources, so now I can't delete any of them. Not that I need to delete any of them, but still.
So while this app can save you a lot of time after updating or restoring your device, you shouldn't count TOO much on it.
