Times Tables Rock Stars

Times Tables Rock Stars is a multiplication and division practice platform for primary schools, designed around short, frequent sessions rather than long ones. Pupils answer timed questions, and their average correct answer speed determines a "rock status" that rises from Wannabe through to Rock Legend as they get faster. Coins earned from play are spent on avatar customisation.

Practice is split across several modes. Garage targets the specific facts a pupil struggles with and allows more thinking time. Studio mixes all tables together and sets the official rock status. Soundcheck presents 25 questions with six seconds each, matching the format of the statutory Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check. Arena, Festival and Gig handle live competition — pupil against pupil, class against class, or school against school.

For teachers, dashboards break down accuracy and response time per pupil and per individual fact, so it's clear which tables are secure and which aren't. Tournaments can be set up between classes or against other schools, and printable worksheets mirror the online content for homework or non-screen practice.

It runs in a browser or through the app on any device, with the same login used at school and at home. Schools buy it as a subscription; individual pupil access comes through the school. The same company also makes NumBots for addition and subtraction.
