What is Time-mile?

Time-mile turns a Google Maps Timeline export into a mileage log for tax deductions and expense claims. It reads both the on-device Timeline.json produced by Android and iPhone and the legacy Google Takeout ZIP, and turns every trip into a filterable row with date, activity type, distance, duration and start/end location, exportable to CSV, Excel, JSON or PDF.

Everything is parsed locally in the browser. The location history is never uploaded to a server, which matters because a Timeline export is months or years of where you have been.

Official per-kilometre deduction rates are built in for 15 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Each scheme is applied with its own structure, including tax years that do not start in January and rates that change mid-year.

Parsing, filtering and the deduction total are free; exports are limited to a marked ten-row preview until unlocked. Paid access is sold per tax year.
