Simple and proper performance, free account up to 100 subscriptions, clean GUI, nothing spectacular but it works.
This RSS reader is set up to help facilitate discussion with my teacher and classmates at Walden University- Course EDUC 6135.

So far, I love it! My import took less than an hour -- on the morning of July 2, when all the Google Reader orphans were looking for a new home at the same time.
It's close enough to the Google Reader interface that the transition has been mostly painless. My biggest beef is that the right-side scroller is a little hard to see and find. Seriously. That's my biggest problem!
Nice, clean, simple. Win.
866 in the queue ahead of me when I started; 673 now, about 15 minutes later. Good to see the speed of progress. That's reassuring evidence of sufficient resources to handle the inevitable slam of the post-Reader exodus.
I really, really hope this app is worth using, once I get there -- I've tried three other alternatives so far, hated them all. Cluttered, busy, worlds away from the nice clean interface I'm looking for. Will submit review once I'm through the queue and have tried the reader.
Yeah, it had a one-week queue when I tried to import my Google Reader data too. Then I tried every other alternate readers, and guess one, all of them had sufficient resources to import my data instantly. So no, The Old Reader does not even have the basic hardware requirements to support and sustain many users.
My data import took less than an hour, and the reader's worked fine so far. Dealing with the slow import is a one-time thing: my biggest concern is whether the app will suit me on a daily basis. So far, it's vastly superior to all the other alternatives I've tried.
Yes, they were all able to import with no lag. They may have enough hardware for any purpose, but if the app looks like crap, the server capacity doesn't do me any good.
Start the app, it prompts me for email address and password. I assume I have to sign up - but there is no help, no link to sign up, nothing. Very frustrating.
The Old Reader team have finished the beta version of their API. Now anyone can write an app for The Old Reader.
You can already enjoy it on your iOS device using

opml import is slow these days
Surely it depends on the high number of people that are switching from Google Reader. It's normal :P
