What is TextReads?
TextReads is a Chrome extension that reads web articles aloud using natural-sounding Text-to-Speech voices, no copy-pasting, no switching apps. When you open an article, a compact floating widget auto-appears in the side. Press play and TextReads streams audio, highlighting the active words and sentences so you always know exactly where you are. Click any sentence directly on the page to immediately jump to that point, adjust speed from 0.5x to 2x, or switch between multiple premium voices. A free offline voice is also included. TextReads adapts to light and dark pages automatically and never interferes with the page layout.
