What is Text2Store?
Text2Store is a desktop app that backs up the messages on an iPhone or iPad to your own computer and turns those backups into a permanent, searchable archive. It makes the backups itself, over a USB cable or Wi-Fi, with no iTunes involved. Every backup is kept as a dated archive rather than overwritten, so older conversations survive even after they've been deleted from the phone.
Conversations display like a messages app: threads with photos, videos, voice messages, group chats, and reactions. Apple Messages and WhatsApp chats contained in the backup are both supported. Full-text search works across every archive on disk.
Whole conversations export to PDF with the date and time on every message, or to CSV and plain text. Long threads are handled properly; conversations past 80,000 messages have exported cleanly to a single document. RSMF export is included for loading conversations into eDiscovery review platforms, and the RSMF writer is tested against Relativity's published validator.
For records that may need to prove themselves later, an opt-in certified backup sends a fingerprint of the archive (never message content) to DigiCert's RFC 3161 timestamp authority at creation, so anyone can later verify the archive is unaltered since that date using standard tools. Verified exports package messages with per-file checksums and that timestamp. Certification is never retroactive, and exports state exactly what they include; omissions are disclosed on the document.
Everything is stored locally. There is no cloud component and message content is never uploaded, with one exception the user confirms each time: optional AI conversation summaries, which run with zero data retention.
Reading every conversation and exporting require a yearly subscription that covers unlimited devices and computers. Runs on macOS (Apple silicon) and Windows 10 or later; the Windows version installs from the Microsoft Store. Apple devices only; Android is not supported.
