i think they are taking advantage of the users

now they are basically forcing you to pay, i don't like it anymore, i'll start looking for a good alternative that has a free version. I think they are taking advantage of the users and the fact that it has some many right now.

Ever since the breach to TeamViewer's security, and how long it took them to acknowledge the problem, and how they even handled the problem once they finally did acknowledge it, I've been trying to find an alternative.

I may just bite the bullet and pay LogMeIn for a personal account.
VNC is super insecure as is RDP.
I've used NoMachine in the past on my Linux boxes and it works smoothly once configured - but I've never ran it on my Windows PC's.
The other problem is if I am on the road and my wife tells me there is a problem, remoting in isn't so easy without opening a bunch of ports on your router/firewalls.

Try Ultravnc with NoIP. (Wife-friendly & much more Secure than any other commercial-junk on the market which say: "Secure&FreeJust4UbelieveUsWeDoCareYourPrivacy&ItsEz")

  • A bit harder to setup than a commercial-junk software BUT if you do care security look no forward, worth it. If it still too hard 4U, just throw your money out of the window for these kind of junk-software, it is your problem.
  • For Linux: SSVNC what i recommend (also works on windows but i prefer UltraVNC for that).

i think it is worth it, is very simple and allows you to help anyone without having to even touch their computer.
