Tally is a free web app for splitting shared expenses with friends. Open it and start — no account or download required.

AI that drafts, you confirm

• Type or speak it: describe one or several expenses in plain language — "I paid $90 for dinner with Maya and Jordan, Jordan got the taxi" — in English, Chinese, or mixed. Tally turns it into draft expenses and asks a follow-up question when something is ambiguous.
• Snap the receipt: photograph a restaurant bill, review the detected dishes, tax, and service charges, assign each dish to people, and get a cent-exact split.
• Nothing is saved until you review it. The AI only reads the bill; the split math is done by Tally's own code and always adds up to the total. AI requests go through zero-data-retention providers, and voice recordings aren't stored.

The essentials Record who paid, split equally among everyone or only selected people, or enter exact amounts. Tally suggests clear person-to-person payments so everyone knows who pays whom.

Local-first, shareable when you want Activities stay in your browser by default. When a group wants to edit together, start a live activity and share it by link or QR code; anyone with the link can view and edit from their own device.

Also: works offline for manual entry and local activities, one currency per activity, PNG and CSV summary export, removing friends without rewriting past bills, English and Simplified Chinese, installable as a PWA. AI features are free with fair-use daily limits; manual entry is always available.
