Nico_Weio Anki is more stable, extensible, open-source, and offers reliable sync via AnkiWeb. Anki is mostly an alternaive for the flashcard aspect of StudySmarter. While the latter allows you to easily make flashcards from excerpts of a PDF, Anki has support for LaTex/MathJax, which results in *much* better readability on mobile devices than a simple screenshot, but comes at the cost of spending a lot of time writing LaTex, if you create cards yourself.
