What is StemMaster?
StemMaster is a Windows application that combines the processes of mixing and mastering into a single pass. It operates on individual song stems instead of a stereo bounce, setting levels and pans, writing per-track automation, managing vocals and bass, and mastering the final result with a true-peak limiter.
Every decision made by the application is detailed in an Engine Notes panel, with nothing hidden behind a single "master" button. Any decision can be overridden on the channel strip, allowing for quick re-rendering around changes. It also ensures a loudness match with the original to within 0.03 dB.
StemMaster also exports individual stems, with or without the full mix, for further processing in your own DAW. The exported stems are held to an automated null test on every build, ensuring they sum back to the mastered mix. The application's built-in mixing and mastering engine runs entirely on your machine and requires no internet connection. An optional AI engine is available that requires your API key and only receives compact measurements, not your audio.
StemMaster is compatible with Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and requires about 280 MB of installation space. It costs $69 for a lifetime license with free 1.x updates, increasing to $99 on August 31, 2026.
