What is Star History Revived?

Track, compare, and display your repository’s growth over time without the standard GitHub API headaches. Designed as a seamless, drop-in replacement for dead or rate-limited star-history embeds, this service restores the classic hand-drawn timeline charts you know, completely friction-free.

Why Use This?

  • Zero Setup & No API Tokens: Skip the hassle of creating, configuring, or exposing GitHub Personal Access Tokens. Charts generate instantly out of the box.

  • Drop-In README Replacement: Fix broken star-history.com image and SVG links across your repositories by simply swapping the domain in your Markdown.

  • Bypass Rate Limits: Powered by custom historical snapshots and periodic updates, rendering star growth timelines never hits GitHub's strict API throttles.

  • OG Visual Style: Retains the iconic XKCD-style aesthetics for single repositories or side-by-side growth comparisons.

  • Lightweight & Open Source: Fast SVG/PNG chart generation tailored specifically for GitHub README.md embeds and documentation pages.
