Video game memory editor for cheating.
What is Squalr?
Squalr is software to make it easy to cheat in video games. Edit health, gold, stats, etc -- or even write scripts to do make complex hacks such as swimming in air, teleportation, etc. Squalr also has a separate client to download cheats made by others, making the software easy to use regardless of skill level.
In technical terms, Squalr is Memory Editing software that allows users to create and share cheats in their windows desktop games. This includes memory scanning, pointers, x86/x64 assembly injection, and other common game cheating tools.

Said about Squalr as an alternative
It's actually a game cheating tool that can search and modify values of other apps. i.e. it's not merely a guide/reference to cheat or solve games.
Only open source alternative to CheatEngine on Windows that I can see. The software's in beta so the UI is pretty buggy (though stable), but the memory scanner works wonders, also bonus: no installation required, and unlike CheatEngine doesn't seem to come bundled with any malware.

Only "cheatengine"-like software without malware and the memory scanner seem just as good to me! The software and UI itself is pretty buggy / lacking in features, but the memory scanner is great which is all I was looking for. Also no setup/installation needed! -1 star for buggy although seemingly stable interface and lack of features (the software is currently in beta, so can't really blame them, and ofc it's completely free and malware-free!).
